Ballyshannon National School has been at the heart of the Parish of Suncroft since 1901. We are a co-educational Catholic primary school with a Board of Management, welcoming children from 4 to 12 years of age.

Our aim is simple: to help every child develop a love of learning during these important early years, a love that will stay with them for life. We currently have 118 wonderful pupils in our school, and we are very proud of our warm, friendly atmosphere.

We are fortunate to have a very active Parents’ Association that works closely with us to support school life and build strong community links.

There is always something happening in Ballyshannon NS! Our pupils enjoy a wide range of activities including Music Generation, Junior Entrepreneur, Discovery Primary Science, Green Schools, Active Schools, Cumann na mBunscoil, Soccer, Rugby, Debating, Chess, Gaelic Football, Choir, Peace Proms and Blast. These opportunities help children discover their talents, build confidence and enjoy being part of a team.

Our dedicated and enthusiastic staff are committed to providing a caring, holistic education where every child feels valued and supported. Most importantly, we want our pupils to feel happy, safe and excited to come to school each day.
