Use of NRRP Funding to Support Digital Inclusion and Learning Innovation
In 2021, our school received funding under Ireland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP)—a project of the Recovery and Resilience Facility, supported by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This grant was aimed at addressing the digital divide and supporting learners at risk of educational disadvantage.
The funding has been instrumental in enhancing teaching and learning through the integration of digital technologies. We have invested in iPads, headphones, keyboards, and a variety of educational apps such as Nessy and Book Creator to support literacy and numeracy development.
To further promote engagement and skill-building, we have also introduced LEGO WeDo robotics kits and other digital tools that foster problem solving, coding, and computational thinking. These resources enable our pupils to participate in STEAM activities, engage in digital storytelling, explore language learning through apps like LanguageNut, and create comprehensive digital portfolios.
Through this support, our pupils now benefit from innovative and engaging learning experiences that help them build essential digital skills for the future
